Shutters differ in type and material:

PVC roller shutters and Reinforced PVC and fiberglass roller shutters are among the cheapest for sale on Proteggendo.it . There are numerous advantages of these types of shutters: the cost and the thermal insulation properties that PVC offers.

What the experts recommend is to use only light colored roller shutters, as darker roller shutters are subject to deterioration and arching due to prolonged exposure to the sun, especially for large ones.

Insulated aluminum shutters Shutters with wide hole or micro-perforated and Micro-perforated shutter in insulated aluminum are among the most used and light, with an excellent ratio quality price, and with many other qualities: they do not discolour, do not arch and have an excellent duration. The slats are filled with polyurethane foam.

Energy saving shutters e e Energy-saving shutters with large hole are among the more innovative models. Their peculiarities are the external aluminum profile, the internal PVC profile and the inside of the slats with high density polyurethane foam insulation. The particular coupling system between the two sides of the slat interrupts the thermal conductivity of the metal, creating a cut in the thermal transmittance between the external and internal environment.

Also the Armored steel shutters with anti-intrusion insulated their slats are filled with polyurethane foam.

The Anti-intrusion armored shutters in aluminum guarantee the reliability and protection of one's family environment against external intrusions. The slats are in extruded aluminum of greater thickness and weight than the standard profiles.+++++

How to find the measures of the roller shutter to buy.

Depending on the type of intervention to be performed, you can proceed in different ways:

- Replacement of the existing roller shutter:

Simply select the product corresponding to the existing roller shutter, measure the size of the old roller shutter and fill in the configuration form for the new shutter:

- Replacement or new installation of the rolling shutter using existing sliding guides:

For the width of the roller shutter, with reference to the guides to be used, the necessary tolerances must be applied. The old existing guides can be used as long as they are in good condition and have at least 16.5mm of internal width for the sliding of the shutter.

The correct indication of the measures is of fundamental importance in the management of the order and subsequently for the installation of the shutters.

In general there are two types of installation of the sliding guides for roller shutters and therefore two cases to consider:

- Built-in guides;

- Visible guides.

In both cases, the measures to be entered in Step 1 of the roller shutter purchase page are:

- The finished width of the shutter.

- The finished height of the roller shutter.

Below we will show you how to take the measurements according to the type of pre-existing guide:

Case 1 - Pre-existing built-in guides:

WIDTH : To calculate the width of the rolling shutter to be purchased, measure the distance from the inside of the right sliding guide to the left sliding guide and then subtract 0.8 cm from this measurement (0.4 cm + 0.4 cm) of tolerance.

HEIGHT : To calculate the height of the rolling shutter to be purchased, you need to measure the height of the window opening from the floor to the lower part of the box and then add 20 cm (they are used for winding the inside the box).

++++

Case 2 - Existing guides at sight (external):

WIDTH : To calculate the width of the roller shutter to buy, you need to measure the window space from wall to wall (from marble to marble) and then subtract from this measurement 0.8 cm (0.4 cm + 0.4 cm) of tolerance.

HEIGHT : To calculate the height of the rolling shutter to be purchased, you need to measure the height of the window opening from the floor to the lower part of the box and then add 20 cm (they are used for winding the inside the box).

N.B. The measurements of the new shutter can be obtained from the previous shutter.

- For the width of the roller shutter it is recommended to measure the width of a slat in good condition and not arched located inside the box.

- For the height of the roller shutter it is recommended to measure the height of the entire roller shutter with the slots closed and it is recommended to place the roller shutter on the floor for correct measurements (for the height you can also measure the distance from the marble below the lower part of the box and add + 20cm)

- Replacement or new installation of roller shutter + sliding guides:

Using a metal shutter (aluminum, steel, extruded aluminum, energy saving) with galvanized guides, during handling and in the presence of wind it is verified that the ends of the slats, sliding along the guides, wear out and produce noise. </ p >

To avoid this, we recommend purchasing aluminum rails with brushes.

If you do not want to replace the old galvanized iron guides (if they are in good condition) it is possible to purchase the protected roller shutters that have side protection caps (Tapporello available only for aluminum roller shutters 12x55mm ST - HD, 14x55mm HD profile and shutters in ST and HD steel) that wrap the ends of each plank protecting them from wear due to rubbing against the galvanized guides and reducing the noise caused by the wind (in practice they do the same job as windproof brushes). The protected cap is only suitable if the existing guides have an internal width of at least 16.5-17 mm and are not excessively damaged. The protected cap will increase the thickness of the staves at the ends by about 2mm. If the 12x55mm profile is chosen with the addition of the protected cap, the profile will become approximately 14x55mm. If the 14x55mm profile is chosen with the addition of the protected cap, the profile will become approximately 16x55mm.

It is suggested to leave a slight ease inside the guides, if your guide has 17mm internally it is better to use the 12x55mm profile with protected cap. If your guide has an internal 20mm you can use both profiles both 12x55mm and 14x55mm

N.B. The PVC shutters have a hook inside the slat itself located on a side to avoid the free sliding of the slats, while the other types of shutters provide for slat stop side caps. </ p >

Observation . We recommend purchasing the guides by measuring the height of the light compartment from the underlying marble to the lower part of the box and adding a tolerance of +10 cm. The upper end of the guide that flows into the box is supplied with the cuts for the invitation that must be widened during installation to facilitate the sliding of the shutter inside the guides.

ATTENTION :

If the light compartment is not equipped with a predisposition for the box and you do not want to buy an aluminum box (box + guides + roller shutter + motor or belt operation kit), you can install the roller shutter with the roller in sight. At this link you can find out how to do it.

INFORMATION :

If you already have the roller shutter and want to purchase overlapping guides, you must first identify the type of guide suitable for sliding the roller shutter and then make sure that by inserting the new guide overlapping the old guide you have enough space to prevent the roller shutter from rubbing against the bottom of the guide, snapping together.

Inserting an overlapping guide (example guide A28, A16, A14) will reduce the width by about 5/6 mm, 3 mm per side.

We generally recommend applying a tolerance of 8 mm, 4 mm per side, so before proceeding to replace the guides, it is necessary to check that there is sufficient space from the bottom of the guide to the start of the roller shutter profile in order to avoid inserting the new guide, the roller shutter blocks during movement.

In case you have a rusty galvanized guide with the following measures:

- external width 2,2cm

- internal width 1,8cm

- depth: 2cm

The A28 guide can be superimposed

Order form and quotes.

Click on the box showing the type of rolling shutter you want to purchase. On the roller shutter purchase page, you can indicate the measures and configure the shutter according to your needs by following the following steps:

Step 1: Indicate the measures of the shutter

Enter the finished measurements in centimeters (width and height) of the rolling shutter to be purchased. By finished measurements we mean the total measurements of the product that will be made, including any side caps (PVC does not include side caps). The shutters will be supplied with slotted slats, including holes for the stop caps and stop caps (to prevent the shutter from accessing the inside of the box), straps and hooks (to connect them to the roller).

Step 2: Choose the shutter profile

To choose the profile of the shutter to be ordered (if you have to replace a pre-existing shutter) you must measure the thickness of a slat of the pre-existing shutter to be replaced and also the height without considering the connection hook that joins the slats. The slat is measured as shown in the following images: Image 1 Image 2

If both the roller shutter and the guides have to be replaced , to define the width of the roller shutter to be purchased, carefully read the images shown above as they indicate the calculation for each guide (LIGHT MEASURE + or - tolerance) to be carried out to know the width of the shutter that must be inserted in Step 1. Also consider the profiles of the shutter compatible with the guide chosen which are shown at the bottom left in each image to avoid purchasing an incompatible shutter with the chosen guide. When ordering, the shutter must show the finished measurements (width and height) with which it will be made, including tolerances. The guides must be added to the trolley together with the shutters. We repeat that the tolerances are your responsibility, we will not apply any tolerances.

Step 3 or 4 (in reference to the selected shutter) : Maneuver Type

Choose the color of the roller shutter If you are not sure of the color to buy, before ordering including roller shutters it is advisable to purchase the kit and color charts as in the absence of a color chart we will not be able to accept complaints if the color differs from the one. your remaining shutters ..

Step 4 or 5 (in reference to the selected roller shutter)

- Type of maneuver Select any type of maneuver (from the computer if you move the mouse cursor over the kit, a pop-up will open listing the components included in that kit)

By selecting a normal motor maneuver kit, the kit will include:

- n.1 Motor without emergency maneuver suitable for moving the purchased rolling shutter;

- n.1 Galvanized roller, with a measure equal to the width of the shutter + 25cm;

- n.1 60mm PVC reinforced shell;

- n.1 Support with bearing;

- n.1 Engine support.

By selecting a belt maneuver kit, the kit will include:

- n.1 Galvanized roller, with a measure equal to the width of the shutter + 25cm;

- n.1 60mm PVC shell;

- n.2 Support with bearing;

- n.1 Wall-mounted box with winder, strap and plate.

N.B.

Where required, it is possible to select the advanced characteristics of the shutter (for example the shutter in aluminum shutters, the armor plating of the slats in PVC shutters)

Step 5 or 6 (in reference to the selected roller shutter) : Choose the terminal

Select the end of the shutter and, if necessary, use the anti-lifting safety bolts applied inside the slats or in the end.
