COOKIE POLICY

What is a cookie and what is it used for?

A cookie is a small file that is sent to the browser and saved on the user's device when they access and use the website www.proteggendo.it (hereinafter also referred to simply as the "Site"). Cookies allow the Site to function efficiently and improve its performance, also by collecting and analyzing aggregated information, which enables the Site manager to understand how to improve the structure of the Site and its sections. Additionally, cookies can be used to collect information for statistical purposes, mainly to personalize the user's browsing experience, remembering their preferences (for example, language, currency, etc.).
What cookies do we use?

Technical cookies

Technical cookies can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which ensure the normal navigation and use of the Site (allowing, for example, to coordinate the modules that make up the Site's pages or to link the visited pages to the same work session), and analytics cookies, which are similar to technical cookies only when used for the Site's optimization directly by the Site manager (so-called first-party analytical cookies), who may collect aggregated information on the number of users and how they visit the Site (for example, to create statistics of the most visited pages, to collect aggregated visit data by operating system, browser, etc.). The use of session cookies is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (composed of random numbers generated by the server) and usage data of the software necessary to allow safe and efficient exploration of the site: session variables (so-called cookies) can avoid the use of techniques that could potentially compromise the privacy of users' browsing and do not allow the acquisition of personal identifying data of the user. Session cookies are not stored persistently on the user's device, but are recorded locally for periods established according to the session variables (whose values stored on the device's hard drive can still be deleted; it is also possible to disable cookies by following the instructions provided by the main browsers).

Third-party cookies

Third-party cookies are set by a website other than the one the user is visiting and reside on servers different from the visited site (e.g.: Google, Criteo, googleads, Facebook, googleadservices). Therefore, the use of data collected by these external operators via cookies is subject to their respective privacy policies. On the Site, there are cookies for:

-Advertising
Criteo (Criteo SA)
- Remarketing and behavioral targeting

The site www.proteggendo.it uses so-called "profiling" cookies through the Google Tag Manager service, designed to create profiles related to the user and used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the web.

How can I disable cookies?

Most browsers are configured to accept, control, or possibly disable cookies through their settings. However, it should be noted that disabling, even partially, technical cookies may compromise the functioning of the Site and/or limit its functionalities.
Disabling third-party cookies, on the other hand, does not affect browsing in any way.
